MANILA, Philippines
We will be in Manila on 15 - 16 January and from 23 - 28 January 2009
Staying alternately between Talayan Village, Quezon City and Legaspi Village, Makati
Metro Manila is the National Capital Region and the prime tourist destination in the Philippines. The metropolis is the Philippines' center of commerce, education, and entertainment. It is located on the island of Luzon. Though it is the smallest region in the country, Metro Manila has the highest population with almost 15 million inhabitants.
While in Manila, we will visit the following places:
Intramuros - (Latin: within the walls) is the oldest district of Manila. Intramuros was the seat of Spanish colonial rule in the East for almost four centuries and was the center of commerce, education, government and religion.
Chinatown - Especially lively during the annual Chinese New Year festivites, we will celebrate with the Chinese on 26 January with a visit to the Seng Guan Temple and will watch the Lion and Dragon Dances at Chinatown, in Binondo, Manila.
Makati - a visit to Manila is not complete without shopping at the Ayala Malls and partying the night away at Metro Manila's Central Business District.
Mall of Asia - the biggest mall in the Philippines, the second in Asia, and the third in the world.
